Hurricane Ike

Hey everyone I just wanted to let you know that we were not affected one bit by Hurricane Ike. We didn't even get any rain from it which is a major bummer because we could really use the moisture!! Thanks to all of you who were praying for us and have been concerned!!

Kennadee's Hand Washing Opera

So sometimes I wish that I had a built in camera in my head that I can push record when Kennadee does something cute. Today I was using the bathroom and Kennadee said "Now when you are done you turn on the water and washa washa washa hands and then you get the soap and you washa washa washa hands". I asked her to do it again so I could get on film so she did but it isn't as cute as it was the first time!!

August Update

Well August has come and gone fairly uneventfully. Our good friend Dustin came to Houston for some work training at the beginning of the month so we went down there a couple of times to visit him. It was really good to see him. He is on his way to Iraq. We hope he will be okay and keep him in our prayers. While we were there the second time we went to the Houston Temple and walked around the grounds. It was a really beautiful day, everything was really green and gorgeous.

  Mid August Russell got called to be the second counselor in the Young Men's Presidency. He is really excited about that and has been enjoying it quite a bit. And then the following week I got called to be the second counselor in the Relief Society Presidency (AHHHH!!!) So far it has been crazy and overwhelming. But I know it is what I am supposed to do and I will have the support I need. 

     Toward the end of the month Kennadee finally completed her potty training. She had  regressed when we moved and it has taken awhile to get her back on track. So she got to go to Gatti-land for her reward. It is like Chuck E. Cheese's but it has way better food and lots of fun games and rides. Kennadee had a blast!!

Russell started teaching this week and has really been enjoying it. He has the Spanish I and Spanish II classes. It is really nice to see him actually be excited to go to work and it has been even better that he comes home happy!! I am so glad that he is finally doing something he enjoys and I hope he continues to love it!!  So that's all for August hopefully September will be great!!

EEK!!!

I know we have all had the experience where we lift up a pile of clothes or towels and a spider comes running out and scares the crap out of us right? Well yesterday I was getting ready to get in the shower and noticed Kennadee's towel was on the floor so I picked it up and out ran a little LIZARD!!!! EEK!! I screamed and it ran after me!! So I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a glass and came back in and put the glass over it so it couldn't run away. Then I hurried and threw some clothes on and grabbed a piece of paper and slid it under the cup. ( I accidently cut off the end of it's tail- oops) I then ran it outside and threw it in the bushes. I debated on taking a picture but I just wanted to get it out of my house!! It was a cute little lizard but it is not okay for it to be in my house!! Here is a picture of what it looked like.
