Pizza Hut!!

Well I finally got hired at Pizza Hut!! I put in my application at both locations in Twin the first of January and have been calling ever since to see if they had gotten a chance to look at my application and both locations ended up losing my applications so I finally got in touch with the manager and got an interview today and they hired me on the spot!! I am so excited!! I am going to be a cook on the evening shift and then maybe I can be a driver later when they are needing another one. Hopefully I don't gain too much weight!!

Farewell To A True Prophet

Our dear prophet President Gordon B. Hinkley passed away last night at 7:00 p.m. He was a great prophet seer and revelator for our day. I always admired the spirit he carried with him and I loved his sense of humor. I am saddened at his death. I was really looking forward to seeing him come and dedicate the Twin Falls temple this summer. But I rejoice in the fact that I know that he can be with his wife once again and that he is now with our Father in Heaven. I am so grateful for the love and direction he gave to our church. I cherish the many lessons I learned from him. And I hope that I will meet him someday in the eternities. I do have a strong testimony of the gospel and of eternal life. And I am grateful to have lived in the era of a wonderful prophet!!

Wow!!!

What a wonderful experience. Since we have been in Twin Falls we have been attending the Spanish Branch. Partly so I can learn spanish by being immersed in it but mostly because the first week we went to check it out we felt the spirit so strongly we decided to stay. Shortly after starting in the ward Russell was called to be the second counselor in the Elder's Quorum Presidency so we knew it was meant to be.
Anyway so today we had the missionaries over for dinner and when we had seen them at church they had an investigator with them so we invited him to come also. So we had dinner and then they wanted to do one of the discussions with him and show him a segment in the Joy to the World DVD. So they did that (all in Spanish) and Russell and Dustin were able to help and bear testimony to him. Even though I couldn't understand most of what they were saying I could feel the spirit so strongly in my heart. It was awesome!!! When they were almost finished they gave Crystal and I the opportunity to bear our testimonies and they translated them for us. It was beautiful. Then they sang Joseph Smith's First Prayer in Spanish and we were all in tears. It was beautiful!!! I am so glad that we were able to be a part of it. I am so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!! It is so amazing to see the gospel through new eyes!!! I hope you all can have an amazing experience like this.

Twin Falls

We are finally settled!! It has taken a bit to get settled in and to figure what we are going to do financially but I think we finally have it figured out!! It has been fun to get back in touch with all of our friends. We have had a couple of game nights and dinners with them!! It has been great!! We are having fun and really enjoying it. We live just down the road from the new Twin Falls temple so we are able to watch the construction it has been fun. Every time we pass it Kennadee says look at the new temple!! She loves it. I am watching my nephew Gage, and Dustin and Crystal's little girl Rylee. During the day and I might start watching my friend Mary's kids also if she starts working days!! I am excited!! It has been lots of fun!!

Don't rent a U-haul

Moving Day,
So moving day came along with 2-3 inches of snow!! We went to pick up the U-haul which was supposed to be there at noon. We got there and they said that the truck wasn't there and that they didn't know where it was. It was a storage place that we were picking it up at so they only get trucks that have been ordered and that U-haul drops off to them so they called U-haul to see where are truck was and they said that their records said that it had already been dropped off so they scrambled to find another truck and finally they found one but we would have to wait 2 hours for it to be dropped off. We told them that was not okay so they found another one that was in Kuna but we would have to go get it. We said we would go get it so Russell and my dad went to get it. 45 min. to an hour later they showed up with the truck and we were ready to load. We got it all loaded which took about 3 hours and tried to make sure we got everything out. By the time we got gas and got on the road it was almost 5 o'clock. Luckily the roads were good so we were on our way. Russell and Kennadee were in the truck and I was following behind in the Toyota. About half way through the trip Russell started to swerve a little and black smoke came out from under the passenger side rear tire. I called him on the cell phone to see what was going on. He said that the brakes just got soft and he was having a hard time slowing down. I told him to pull over so we could figure out what was going on so he did and he had a really hard time getting the truck to stop and get off the road (we're talking a 24 ft. long truck) I got out of the car and went up and got in the cab with him (it was 20 degrees outside!!) We called the U-haul help number and they said they would get a mechanic out to us as within an hour. So an hour went by and no one came so we called U-haul back and they put us on hold and while we were holding the mechanic called and said he was on his way that U-haul had just called to tell him to head out. They had called him an hour before but told him to wait until they called him back before he left. So he said he was coming from Boise and would be another hour before he got there. So that hour went by and still no word from him so we called U-haul again and they told us that they had decided to send a tow truck instead of the mechanic and that he should be there in an hour. Soon a police officer came by and helped us get further off the road and put up some flares so that the tow truck driver could see us and I asked him exactly where we were so I could call the tow truck driver to tell him where we were. When I called the driver to tell him. I asked him how close he was and he said he was just leaving Boise because he had spent the last hour trying to find a tow truck big enough to tow us so he would be another hour before he got there.!!!! I was outraged!!! I couldn't believe how ridiculous this was. So finally he got there and hooked the truck up and we had him follow us to Twin Falls. We arrived in Twin Falls at about midnight. So a trip that should have taken and hour and a half to two hours ended up taking 6 hours!! We had to leave the truck at the U-haul store in Twin and wait until the next day to get it fixed so we could unload it. The next morning we went to the U-haul place to see what was going on the manager got under the truck and found that the brake line in the rear passenger tire was broken!!! My husband and child could have been killed!! so we called U-haul corp. to get our money back. Had to wait 3 days to be able to talk to the right person and then he told Russell that it would be a lot of work to get our money back but he could give us 20% back and a $40 gift card to U-haul. So that was two weeks ago and we just got the check but there was no gift card in with it. So Monday I get to call and see what it going on with that!! Also when I was asking them what kind of inspections they do on the vehicles before they send them out and they told me that they check what they can see on the outside but they rely on their CUSTOMERS to let them know if there is a problem with the truck!!!! So needless to say we are never going to use U-haul again!!!

Christmas

Christmas was fantastic this year!! My Mom, Dad(Pete), & David came up. It was really fun to have them there and to get to see David again since it has been over a year and a half since we saw him last. Kennadee loved to play with David and thought he was hilarious. It was really cute to see them together. Kennadee was so grateful for everything she got for Christmas even this simple orange in her stocking. It is so fun to see the joy and wonder in her eyes!! Christmas Eve was fun also we did all the traditional things and we all got matching PJ's. The guys had shirts that said what happens under the mistletoe stays under the mistletoe and Mom and I had jammies that said naughty or nice? And Kennadee of course got Disney Princess jammies and slippers (thanks Mom!!) I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
